The exhibition in Venice, Italy, was decided a year ago. Originally, I was planning to hold it with a friend, but later I felt it wasn’t suitable, so I canceled it. By chance, another friend invited me, and it seemed that fate had destined for me to exhibit in Italy. I’ve always wanted to showcase my work overseas and see the world outside. However, the opening date coincided with the opening ceremony of our exhibition at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, so I had to abandon the idea of going to Italy. After seeing many masterpieces at the exhibition, I became deeply aware of my own shortcomings. I realized that I hadn’t prepared enough works because overseas exhibitions require time to ship the artwork and prepare catalogs. From the time I decided to participate until the exhibition, the preparation time was very short, making it difficult to complete high-quality pieces, which I regret a little. Nonetheless, this opportunity has prompted me to reflect deeply. Opportunities come to those who are prepared.
