Today, I had a sudden free slot, so I quickly seized the opportunity to drive to Zhudong to learn from Professor Dai Ming-De. It’s been a long time since I’ve experienced the feeling of driving alone to a distant town. I arrived at Ming Guan Art Museum and was warmly greeted by Grace, who exuded a genuine sense of hospitality. The museum’s décor and setup had an indescribable charm, much like Grace’s own unique sense of style.

This time, the exhibition featured Professor Dai Ming-De’s works. Personally, I felt it differed from his previous exhibitions at other galleries. The spacious venue here perfectly complemented the grandeur of his large-scale pieces. The nostalgic architectural vibe paired seamlessly with Professor Dai’s contemporary works, creating an unexpectedly harmonious blend.

Since I wasn’t in a rush today, I took my time appreciating Professor Dai’s artworks and hand-drawn sketches. I pondered how boldly he laid down his strokes in his sketchbooks and how he conceptualized and expressed himself with colors on canvas. I heard that Professor Dai has over a thousand sketchbooks—it truly echoes the saying, “Ten minutes on stage takes ten years of practice.”

After viewing the exhibition, I had a brief chat with everyone and gained many valuable insights. Some of my long-standing doubts about the art world gradually started to clear up, and I began to better understand the joys and challenges that artists and galleries face together. This trip was undoubtedly worthwhile. I’m deeply grateful to Grace for gifting me an art book and a cup of coffee that warmed my heart on such a chilly day.

今天臨時有一個空檔，趕快抓緊機會衝往竹東向戴明德老師學習。已經很久沒有一個人開車到異鄉的感覺，今天開車到了名冠藝術館，遇到Grace姐感受到滿滿的人情味。名冠藝術館的裝潢和佈置有一種說不出來的味道，就像Grace一樣穿搭有自己的品味。這次展出戴明德老師的作品。個人覺得不同於以往戴老師在其他藝廊的展覽感覺。這裡空間夠大非常適合戴老師大作品的氣勢。懷舊建築的感覺加上戴老師當代作品放在一起卻一點也不違和。這一次的時間不趕，所以我慢慢地欣賞戴老師的作品以及手繪草稿。思考著老師在畫冊上如何大膽的下筆做草稿然後在畫布上如何的構思以及運用色彩的表現。據說老師的手稿有1000多本。正所謂台上10分鐘台下十年功。看完後和大家稍微聊了一下，獲益匪淺。心中對於藝術界的一些疑惑，慢慢地一個一個解開來。慢慢了解藝術家和畫廊當中的酸甜苦辣。這一趟真的是不虛此行，感謝Grace姐贈送的畫冊以及一杯在寒冷的氣溫中，溫暖心靈的咖啡
