前幾天參加了美惠老師的開幕式，知道老師已經默默耕耘了37年，才有今天這麼豐碩的成果。真所謂台上一分鐘台下10年功，然而在繪畫藝術這個領域、10年可能只是告訴大家，你仍有堅持在畫畫 。

記得我第一次在台北社教館個展結束的時候。由於信心大挫，一度想要放棄，幸虧卸展的當天晚上簡君惠老師專程打電話來告訴我要堅持。而後續何肇衢老師和陳銀輝老師也同樣的告訴我走這條路很辛苦要非常的堅持。看了美惠老師的展覽後，我懂了。我的10年只不過是小菜一碟。

星期二寫生也10年了，看著來來去去的人，心中常常難免感慨萬千，而真正能堅持自己夢想的能有幾人？但是您會看到慢慢留在這個團體的是真正對繪畫非常熱愛的人。今天很意外地來了一位每次中午就看到他搭著火車趕過來的玉芬，我對他只有欽佩兩個字。而他總是說：畫畫不要想太多開心最重要。

A few days ago, I attended the opening ceremony of Teacher Mei-Hui’s exhibition. I learned that she has been quietly working for 37 years to achieve such fruitful results today. It truly exemplifies the saying, “One minute on stage takes ten years of practice off stage." However, in the field of painting, ten years might only serve to show others that you’re still committed to your art.

I remember when I finished my first solo exhibition at the Taipei Social Education Center. I was so discouraged that I nearly gave up, but fortunately, on the night I was taking down the exhibition, Teacher Chien Jun-Hui called me specifically to tell me to persevere. Later, Teachers Ho Chao-Chu and Chen Yin-Hui also told me that walking this path is tough and requires great perseverance. After seeing Teacher Mei-Hui’s exhibition, I finally understand. My ten years are just a small beginning.

The Tuesday painting sessions have also been going on for ten years. Watching people come and go often fills my heart with mixed emotions. How many people can truly persist in their dreams? However, you can see that those who slowly remain in this group are the ones who are genuinely passionate about painting. Today, to my surprise, Yu-Fen, someone who I always see rushing to catch the train to join us every noon, came again. I have nothing but admiration for him. He always says, “Don’t overthink painting; what matters most is to enjoy it."
